5th International Multidisciplinary Research Conference

"5th International Multidisciplinary Research Conference-2019 on the theme “Global Prosperity through Research & Sustainable Development” was held at Peshawar on October 29-31, 2019. The conference was jointly organized by Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University, Abdul Wali Khan University, Sarhad University, and University of Malakand.

Renowned international key note speakers from USA, Brazil, Turkey, Egypt, and national speakers from all over the country shared the scientific ideas and recent advances with the audience.

The conference was very productive for the interaction of Multidisciplinary Scientists to strengthen the efforts to achieve SDGs.

Dr. Hazir Rahman (Director ORIC, and Dr. Adil Hussain (Assistant Professor, Department of Agriculture) were conference organizers from AWKUM.

The 6th conference will be hosted by ORIC, AWKUM at Mardan in October 2020."

In a notification from HEC Islamabad, thirty (30) Assistant Professors (TTS) of the Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan were promoted to Associate Professors Grade 20. In his congratulation note, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Khurshid Khan, Vice Chancellor, AWKUM considered it a historical moment where a bulk of faculty members are promoted. Department of Agriculture Organized one day international seminar on “Hybrid Wheat Production” at Garden Campus Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan. Dr. Kawsar Ali (Assistant Professor, Agriculture Dpt AWKUM) was the chief organizer of the event while Prof. DrZhong Sheng Quan from Beijnng Engineering Research System was the invited speaker of the event. Prof Dr Muhammad Arif and Prof. Dr Bashir Ahmad were invited from the Agriculture University Peshawar as National Speakers. Dr. Zafar Hayat Khan, Chairman Agriculture Department, addressed the participant and welcomed the guest in his welcome note speak. While Talking about the importance of Hybrid Wheat production Prof. Dr. Zhong Cheng Quan Said “Growing more food is the cry of the day. We have to adopt new technologies and techniques to fulfill food requirement of the ever growing population of the world. Without the introduction of hybrid wheat production system we cant ensure food security in the region. With the help of hybrid system we can not only save the land resources but also can significantly improve fertilizer and nutrients use efficiency”. He also highly acknowledged the advancement of AWKUM in the world of research. He declared AWKUM as one of the best and fast growing research oriented university in the country. Dr. Kawsar Ali said in his speech “We don’t have any other option except to adopt and go for applied research. The farmers and people of the society are looking to agriculture scientist as we are believed to be their last hope. It’s a do or die situation for us to fulfill the food demand of ever escalating population of the country with the help of best agriculture practices”. Professor Dr Muhammad Arif and Prof Dr Bashir Ahmad also addressed the session and praised the efforts of AWKUM as a whole and agriculture department specifically. Chairman Agriculture Department told the participant and Agriculture Department has organized number of events both at national and international level in this calendar year to address and highlight various national and international issues. Chief Guest and all speakers highly acknowledged the effort of organizing committee specially DrAdil Hussain and Dr Muhammad Ali who worked day and night to make the event possible. Chief guest in speech said “Its never easy to conduct international event in such environment when you are supposed to face so many security and administrative constraint at national levels, however ,DrAdil and Dr M. Ali along with faculty members of agriculture department made it possible in shortest possible time. 

AWKUM Timergara Campus Organized a Conference on “Information-Communication Technologies, Enhanced Social & Management Sciences (CICTSM)”

A one-day in-house research conference was held on October 23, 2019 at Timergara Campus, AWKUM. This event was organized by the Department of Computer Science. On this occasion Prof. Dr. Aurangzeb Khan- Dean Faculty of Physical & Numerical Sciences, Mr. Muhammad Bashir Khan (Member National Assembly) and Mr. Minhaj-ud-din- Coordinator were the Chief Guests. While Mr. Ishtiaq Wahid (General Chair, CICTSM), Dr. Masood Ahmad (Co-Chair, CICTSM), Mr. Arjumand Yar Khan, Mr. Arshad Ali, Mr. Ajmal Khan, Mr. Sheraz Muhammad Khan (Session Chair), Mr. Noor Hassan, Mr. Hamad Khan, Mr. Rizwan Ullah, Mr. Alam Zeb (Session Chair), Mr. Israr Ullah (Lecturer), Mr. Imran Ullah (Lecturer) and faculty members from Garden Campus i.e. Dr. Izaz ur Rehman, Dr. Muhammad Zakarya, and Dr. Rahim Khan also attended the conference. Some national and international Guest Speakers- Bisma Khan (IM Durshal), Dr. Israr Ullah (Assistant Professor, Virtual University) and Dr. Muhammad Fayaz (Assistant Professor, UCA’s School of Arts and Sciences, Russia) joined this event via video conference. Students from different campuses presented their ideas in front of session chairs. Prof. Dr. Aurangzeb Khan appreciated the efforts of Mr. Inam Ullah Khan (Lecturer & Conference Chair). He said that this conference is the stepping stone for the beginning of a new academic era for the students of AWKUM. At the end, the honorable Dean distributed the shields among the faculty members and students.
