The Career Counseling and Placement Center (CCPC) of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan organized an opening ceremony for career counseling sessions for Fall Semester 2026. The ceremony introduced newly admitted undergraduate students to the purpose, scope, and working mechanism of the career counseling sessions, highlighting their importance in guiding students towards informed academic and professional choices.

The Worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Jamil Ahmad, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and shared his views on the importance of career counseling for newly admitted students. He emphasized that career counseling should begin from the very first day of university life, enabling students to identify their interests, develop relevant skills, and prepare for future career opportunities.

The Vice Chancellor particularly highlighted the importance of LinkedIn profile optimization as an essential component of career development. He advised students to showcase their abilities and acquire skills relevant to current market requirements rather than spending excessive time on other social media platforms. He also emphasized effective time management during campus life and urged students to maintain respect for their teachers and university staff.

He highlighted the role of the Center in supporting students' professional development and connecting their academic learning with future career opportunities.

On the occasion, Dr. Muhammad Bilal also announced the forthcoming 2+2 academic programme between Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan and Trent University, Canada, for BS students. Under this programme, undergraduate students from Environmental Science, Computer Science, and the Institute of Business and Leadership will have the opportunity to complete their final four semesters at Trent University, Canada, and receive their degrees from Trent University.
