Outcome of appeals against Scrutiny & Qualification Committee decisions

Kindly refer to the appeals filed by applicants against the decisions of the Scrutiny & Qualification Committee in connection with Advertisement Nos. 64 and 65 (2025), dated June 16, 2026.

In this regard, all the appeals were considered by the Appellate Committee in accordance with Section 3(1)(h) of the Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan Teachers Appointment & Scales of Pay Statutes, 2016 (Amended 2025).

Please Read Carefully

1. Applicants for the posts of Professor and Associate Professor who were previously declared ineligible by the Scrutiny & Qualification Committee and have now been declared eligible by the Appellate Committee are required to deposit an evaluation fee of Rs. 6,000/- for further processing of their applications.
2. The decisions of the Appellate Committee shall be treated as final in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Statutes.
3. The provisional merit lists will be uploaded in due course of time after completion of the required verification process.
4. Where an appeal has been accepted subject to verification, the marks awarded shall remain provisional and may be revoked if the claim is subsequently found to be unsubstantiated upon verification.

Mr. Hakim Said Successfully Defends PhD Thesis at AWKUM

The public defense of Mr. Hakim Said, PhD Scholar in the Department of Political Science, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM), was successfully held at the university.

Mr. Hakim Said successfully defended his doctoral thesis titled “The Foreign Policy of Pakistan (1999–2022): An Analysis”, conducted under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Zahir Shah, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan.

The doctoral defense was evaluated by a distinguished panel of examiners comprising:

• Prof. Dr. Zahid Anwar, Former Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Peshawar
• Dr. Amirullah Khan, Chairman, Department of Political Science, Islamia College University, Peshawar
• Prof. Dr. Manzoor Ahmad, Chairman, Department of Political Science, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan

The public defense provided an opportunity for the scholar to present and discuss his research findings and respond to questions from the examiners.

The defense was also attended by faculty members and students, who witnessed the important academic milestone.

The successful defense marks a significant achievement in Mr. Hakim Said’s academic journey and reflects the continued research and scholarly activities of the Department of Political Science, AWKUM.

AWKUM Announces Hostel Admissions 2026 — Applications Open August 28 to September 1

The Office of the Provost, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, has notified all concerned that hostel admissions for the 2026 session are now open. Provisionally selected students are required to submit their hostel admission forms along with the required documents within the specified window at the designated venues for male and female applicants.

Admissions Open Friday, August 28, 2026

Admissions Close Tuesday, September 1, 2026

Admission Venues

Hostel admission submissions will be accepted separately for male and female students at the following venues:

Male Students Provost Office, Garden Campus

Female Students Office of the Deputy Provost (Female), Main Campus

Required Documents for Submission

1. Student's CNIC
2. Father's / Guardian's CNIC
3. Domicile certificate
4. One recent passport-size photograph
5. CNIC of visitors (i.e., next of kin)
6. Affidavit for admission
7. Hostel admission form recommended by the Chairman / Principal of the concerned Department / College

Provisionally selected students must submit their admission form in hard copy along with attested photocopies of the above documents.

Terms & Conditions

1. Interested candidates are required to bring original documents for interview (along with CV and attested photocopies of their all DMC's, Degrees, Experience Certificates, CNIC & 01 Passport Size Photograph).
2. The applicant shall have no Third Division in academic career.
3. CGPA less than 3.00 out of 4.00 shall be considered as Second Division.
4. The applicants are required to reach the venue on the given date & time. No application will be entertained after the given date & time.
5. In case of foreign degree, the applicant must produce HEC Equivalence Certificate.
6. In-service candidates shall apply through proper channel. They must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer/Institution.
7. No TA/DA shall be admissible.
