AWKUM Organizes Career Counseling Session for 2nd Year Students from Various Colleges of District Mardan
The University
Advancement & Career Development Center (UA&CDC) at Abdul Wali Khan
University, Mardan, organized a Career Counseling and Orientation Session for
the intermediate 2nd-year students. Students from the Government Post Graduate
College Mardan, Nisar Shaheed School & College Risalpure, The Fazle Haq
College Mardan, Government Degree College Toru, Government
Girls Degree College Sheikh Maltoon, Government Degree College Lund Khwar, Government
Degree College No. 2 Mardan, and Government Degree College Takht Bhai, and Peshawar Degree College
Boys Mardan,
Speaking on the
occasion, Dr. Muhammad Bilal, Director UA&CDC, emphasized the importance of
making informed decisions regarding future education and career paths. He
encouraged students to select degree programs based on their interests,
abilities, and career aspirations rather than external pressures or prevailing
trends. He also highlighted the importance of self-assessment, exploring career
opportunities, and aligning academic choices with long-term professional goals.
Dr. Muhammad Amir,
Director of Admissions and Financial Aid, introduced the students to the
academic programs, facilities, and opportunities available at Abdul Wali Khan
University Mardan. He highlighted the University's quality education, modern
laboratories, research facilities, scholarships, internships, career counseling
services, industry linkages, and student support programs.
As part of the program,
the students visited various university facilities, including the Museum, Fish
Hatcheries, Central Library, and research laboratories, where they gained
firsthand exposure to the University's academic and research environment.
The session concluded
with an interactive discussion during which students asked questions about
higher education opportunities, admissions, and career pathways. The event
reflects UA&CDC’s commitment to guiding young learners and helping them
make informed decisions about their academic and professional futures.

AWKUM Students Attend Nexus Pakistan: Building Digital Connections Event at Hazara University, Mansehra
The University Advancement & Career Development Center of AWKUM facilitated students' visits to Hazara University in Mansehra to attend Nexus Pakistan: Building Digital Connections. Students from the departments of Microbiology, Computer Science, and Sociology, as well as the Institute of Business and Leadership (IBL), participated in this visit.
During the event, AWKUM students showcased their innovative research products and projects, reflecting the university's academic excellence and research potential. The event also provided an excellent platform for students to interact with researchers, academicians, and innovators from across the country. These participating students also attended training sessions on the digital transformation of academia and research, thereby empowering the country's youth.
AWKUM students also visited the Vice Chancellor of Hazara University at the Vice Chancellor's office. The Honorable Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Ikramullah Khan, welcomed AWKUM students at his office and interacted with them for some time. The vice chancellor encouraged them to take part in such kind of activities and grow professionally. Students of AWKUM sincerely thanked the Vice Chancellor of Hazara University for his humble and respectful interaction with them.

Conference on Seerat-un-Nabiï·º Held at the Department of Islamic Studies, AWKUM
The Department of Islamic Studies, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan organized a thought-provoking conference on Seerat-un-Nabi ï·º , in collaboration with the Provost Office AWKUM and the District Youth Office Mardan.
The conference focused on the theme:
اخلاقِ نبوی ï·º کا ØÙ‚یقی تصور اور انسانی عملی زندگی میں اس Ú©ÛŒ تطبیق
The renowned Islamic scholar Mufti Sayed Shujat Ali Shah (Shaikhul Hadith Jamia Islamia Bubuzai Mardan) graced the occasion as the Guest Speaker. He delivered profound insights into the philosophical, religious, and practical dimensions of the Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) manners, emphasizing their relevance and applicability in contemporary human life.
The session was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Karim Dad, Chairperson, Department of Islamic Studies. Furthermore, the University Chief Proctor, nominees of the Provost Office, faculty members and students of the Department of Islamic Studies participated in the event. They showed keen interest in the lecture and appreciated the speaker’s scholarly and engaging presentation.
The conference concluded with a renewed commitment among attendees to incorporate the noble اخلاقِ نبوی ï·º into their personal and social lives.
The convener Seminar/Workshop Committee Dr. Muhammad Zubair thanked the Vice Chancellor, Dean, Faculty of Arts & Humanities, Chairperson Department of Islamic Studies, Office of the Provost and Chief Proctor for their cordial support and assistant in conduction of the Seminar.
The Seminar ended with the distribution of shields among the organizers and the Guest Speaker, following by dua for the prosperity of the whole Muslim Ummah and University as well.

Department of Botany, AWKUM to Organize One-Day Seminar in Collaboration with PlantPulse, iBuilders, and Haryali Club
The Department of Botany, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, in collaboration with PlantPulse, iBuilders, and Haryali Club, is organizing a one-day seminar focusing on pressing environmental challenges and the role of botany in addressing climate change.
The seminar, titled “When the Skies Break: Understanding Cloudbursts, Floods and the Role of Botany in a Warming Climate,” is scheduled to be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 10:30 AM . The event will take place at the Main Hall, Department of Sports, Block No. 09.
Dr. Khalid Khan (KKK), a renowned Synoptic Systems Architect and a leading voice in climate action and sustainable development, will deliver the keynote talk. He serves as Captain of PlanetPulse and is also the Founder of Haryali Club and iBuilders—initiatives dedicated to building resilient ecosystems, institutions, and communities.
The Honourable Vice Chancellor will attend the seminar to grace the academic session.
All faculty members, students, and relevant stakeholders are encouraged to participate in the event. Chairpersons of various departments are especially requested to ensure the attendance of students as per the given schedule.

AWKUM Holds Third Session on Effective CV Writing & Interview Skills for Graduating Students
The University
Advancement and Career Development Center (UA&CDC) at Abdul Wali Khan
University Mardan (AWKUM) successfully conducted its third session on “Effective
CV Crafting & Interview Skills” at IBL Hall. The session was organized
for 8th-semester students from the Faculties of Physical & Numerical
Sciences and Chemical & Life Sciences as part of the university-wide Soft
Skills Development Program.
The initiative aims to
equip graduating students with essential professional skills, particularly in
resume development and interview preparation, to help them transition smoothly
into the job market.
Dr. Muhammad Bilal,
Director UA&CDC, welcomed the participants, including students, faculty
members, and resource persons. In his address, he emphasized the importance of
preparing for the shift from academic life to the professional world. He noted that
while students may have excelled in their academic programs, they must now be
ready to face the practical challenges of the industry.
Ms. Bisma Javed, a
resource person from the Institute of Business and Leadership (IBL), delivered
an insightful session on CV writing. She explained the types of CVs employers
require, highlighted common mistakes students make, and provided practical
guidance on creating a well-structured, impactful CV that effectively presents
personal, academic, and professional strengths.
Dr. Silvia Ahmed from
IBL led the session on interview skills. She discussed strategies for
presenting oneself confidently and professionally in interviews, highlighted
common errors candidates make, and shared techniques to improve performance.
The session also included interactive mock interviews, giving students hands-on
experience and valuable feedback.
