AWKUM Hosts Creative Art Exhibition Showcasing Students’ Talent

Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, under the auspices of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa College of Arts, organized a remarkable exhibition of students’ creative artworks. The exhibition showcased artistic works produced by students from the disciplines of Textile Designing, Interior Designing, Fashion Designing, and Photography.

On this occasion, the Commissioner Mardan, Mr. Javed Khan Marwat, graced the event as the Chief Guest, while the Vice Chancellor, Women University Mardan, Professor Dr. Raziya Sultana, and the District Police Officer (DPO) Mardan, Mr. Masood Khan Bangash, attended the event as distinguished guests. The guests were warmly received by Mr. Fazal Sattar, Principal, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa College of Arts; Dr. Tariq Mahmood, Director ORIC; and Mr. Farhad Safi, Director Administration. The honorable guests took keen interest in the exhibition and highly appreciated the students’ creative work.

The Commissioner Mardan, Mr. Javed Khan Marwat, while commending the students’ artwork, stated that the creative abilities of youth are highly commendable and that such activities play a vital role in the professional development and training of students.

On the occasion, the Vice Chancellor, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, Professor Dr. Jamil Ahmed, presented commemorative shields to the guests. A tree plantation activity was also carried out in the presence of the university administration.

In a captivating one-day seminar hosted at Pakhtunkhwa College of Arts (PCA) AWKUM, Mr. Zahir Shah, a highly skilled artist hailing from Karachi, delved into the intricate world of Islamic Calligraphy and Illumination Designs. The event, attended by art enthusiasts and students alike, provided a unique opportunity to explore the rich history, techniques, and artistic nuances of these revered Islamic art forms.

Mr. Zahir Shah, with his expertise and passion, guided participants through the intricate details of Islamic Calligraphy, showcasing the beauty and significance of the written word in Islamic culture. The seminar also explored the mesmerizing world of Islamic illumination designs, unraveling the historical matrix and symbolic elements embedded in each stroke.

The seminar, characterized by engaging discussions and live demonstrations, left attendees inspired and enlightened about the profound artistry that lies within Islamic Calligraphy and Illumination Designs. 6th Graduation Exhibition at Pakhtunkhwa College of Arts, AWKUM

 

AWKUM Fraternity Shines at Lyallpur Art & Literature Festival, Wins Best Art Team of Pakistan and Best Ambassador Awards

 

AWKUM Fraternity has brought laurels to the university by winning the Best Art Team of Pakistan Award and Best Ambassador Award in the 8th Lyallpur Art & Literature Festival. Salman Khan, Sheema Khan, and Sayyeda Farsa Urooba, students of PCA, secured top positions in the painting and calligraphy competitions, respectively. Syed Usama Shah, a student of IBL, secured the third position in the Naat competition. The students also attended various workshops, exhibitions, and seminars, including a photography workshop by Mr. Raja Bashir and a textile design industrial development workshop at Moti Fabric Pvt Ltd. The students received several art commissions and projects from dignitaries, and these accomplishments would not have been possible without the support and guidance of PCA AWKUM's respected principal, Fazli Sattar Durrani.

The Pakhtunkhwa College of Arts, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan needs Lecturers on Visiting for a period of one semester (current Fall 2018) in Arts & Design. Walk-in-Interview will be held in the office of Dean, Faculty of Arts & Humanities (Garden Campus) as per following schedule:

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Interested candidates are required to appear for interview and bring their CVs, original documents and attested copies thereof to the Office of the Dean Faculty of Arts & Humanities, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (Garden Campus) at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, 09/10/2018.

2. In case of foreign degree, the applicant(s) must produce HEC Equivalence Certificate.

3. In-service candidates shall apply through proper channel. They must submit No Objection Certificate from their employer/Institution.

4. No TA/DA is admissible.
