Significant Agreement Between Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan and Hebei Agricultural University, China

 

Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM) and Hebei Agricultural University (HEBAU), China, have formally signed an important agreement for the establishment of the China–Pakistan Yeast Biotechnology Joint Research Center. The purpose of this agreement is to promote collaborative scientific research between the two universities, particularly in the fields of agricultural biotechnology and yeast biotechnology.

Under the agreement, both institutions will jointly establish a research laboratory that will facilitate advanced research activities, joint research programs, academic conferences, exchange of scientific information, and the exchange of scientists and experts. The laboratory will be jointly supervised by nominated Co-Directors from both universities.

The agreement also includes clauses related to Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). According to these provisions, the outcomes of joint research activities will be jointly owned by both institutions, while the rights of independently conducted research will remain with the respective institution.

The agreement has come into effect immediately upon signing and will remain valid for a period of four years.

The agreement was signed on behalf of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan by Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Jamil Ahmad, and on behalf of Hebei Agricultural University by the Director, International Office. The signing ceremony was attended by Director ORIC Dr. Tariq Mahmood, Additional Director QEC Abrar Hussain Umarzai, Assistant Professor Zia-ul-Islam, and Professor Dr. Rahim Sher.

This agreement is being regarded as a significant step toward further strengthening higher education and research collaboration between Pakistan and China.

AWKUM Hosts Creative Art Exhibition Showcasing Students’ Talent

Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, under the auspices of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa College of Arts, organized a remarkable exhibition of students’ creative artworks. The exhibition showcased artistic works produced by students from the disciplines of Textile Designing, Interior Designing, Fashion Designing, and Photography.

On this occasion, the Commissioner Mardan, Mr. Javed Khan Marwat, graced the event as the Chief Guest, while the Vice Chancellor, Women University Mardan, Professor Dr. Raziya Sultana, and the District Police Officer (DPO) Mardan, Mr. Masood Khan Bangash, attended the event as distinguished guests. The guests were warmly received by Mr. Fazal Sattar, Principal, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa College of Arts; Dr. Tariq Mahmood, Director ORIC; and Mr. Farhad Safi, Director Administration. The honorable guests took keen interest in the exhibition and highly appreciated the students’ creative work.

The Commissioner Mardan, Mr. Javed Khan Marwat, while commending the students’ artwork, stated that the creative abilities of youth are highly commendable and that such activities play a vital role in the professional development and training of students.

On the occasion, the Vice Chancellor, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, Professor Dr. Jamil Ahmed, presented commemorative shields to the guests. A tree plantation activity was also carried out in the presence of the university administration.

MoU signed between AWKUM and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority. The Memorandum of Understanding ceremony was held in the conference room of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority. The MoU was signed by Director General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority Abid Khan Wazir and Vice Chancellor Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan Professor Dr. Zahoorul Haq.

On this occasion, the heads of both institutions, Professor Fazal Sattar Durrani, Principal Pakhtunkhwa Institute of Arts and Culture, Dr. Syed Zafarullah Bakhshali, Chairman Pashto Department, Manager Culture Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tourism Authority Humayun Khan, Deputy Manager Literature and Language Nadeem Tucker, Manager Planning Munir Abbas, Dr. Ziaullah, Sinan, Lecturer RPCA, Dr. Naveed, Abed Mehmood and others were present.

Under the Memorandum of Understanding, the two institutions Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority and Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan will make joint efforts in the promotion of regional languages ​​including culture, architecture and fine arts in Mardan province. Speaking at the event, DG Tourism Authority Abid Khan Wazir said that Tourism Authority is taking initiatives in the hospitality sector, arts and other sectors in the province. Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan will help in promoting tourism and culture in the province.

Prof. Dr. Zahoorul Haq said that there is a Department of Tourism and Culture in Jamia Abdul Wali Khan Mardan where research work is going on and full support will be given for its promotion. Under the MoU, both institutions will promote the culture, tourism, fine arts and regional languages ​​of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. رشین ایمبیسی اسلام آباد کے وفد نے عبدالولی خان یونیورسٹی مردان کا دورہ کیا وفد میں مسٹر اندے جی ڈائریکٹر کونسلر جرنل رشین فیڈریشن ،ارسلا خان اعزازی  کونسلر جرنل رشین فیڈریشن ،چیئرمین سٹینڈنگ کمیٹی برائے کامرس ذیشان خانزادہ خان شامل تھے وفد نے وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر ظہور الحق سے ملاقات کی انہوں نے رشین وفد کو عبدالولی خان یونیورسٹی کے بارے میں تفصیلی بریفنگ دی وائس چانسلر نے عبد الولی خان یونیورسٹی مردان کی حالیہ ولڈ رینکنگ کے حوالے سے وفد کو اگاہ کیا انہوں نے کہا کہ عبدالولی خان یونیورسٹی مردان پاکستان کی واحد یونیورسٹی ہے جس کے 6کیمپسزز کو  یونیورسٹی کا درجہ ملا ہے اس سال فال  سمسٹر میں بی ایس پروگرام کیلئے 18 ہزار درخواستیں موصول ہوئی ہیں جبکہ  25 نئے پروگرام بھی شروع کیے گئے ہیں عبدالولی خان یونیورسٹی مردان  پہلی بار جرمنی  کی ایک کمپنی کے اشتراک کے ساتھ ڈاکٹر عابد  کی بنائی گئی ویکسین کو کمرشلائز کرنے جا رہی ہے   حالیہ کرونا وبا کے دوران ھم نے  طلباء و طالبات کی قیمتی وقت کو ضائع ہونے سے بچایا  ہے جس کے لیے ہم نے پاکستان کی بہترین لرننگ منیجمنٹ سسٹم کو متعارف کیا ہے رشین وفد نے عبدالولی خان یونیورسٹی مردان کے مختلف حصوں کا دورہ کیا  یونیورسٹی  میوزیم میں فائن آرٹس ڈیپارٹمنٹ کے طلباء وطالبات  کی بنائی گئی پینٹنگ  نمائش کا افتتاح کیا اور میوزیم کے مختلف حصوں میں خاصی دلچسپی ظاہر کی اس کے علاوہ وہ نئے اکیڈمک بلاک  کا بھی دورہ کیا جس میں سنٹرل لیب کو ایک آئیڈیل لیب قرار دیا

رشین  کونسلر جرنل نے عبد الولی خان یونیورسٹی مردان کے  لیے دس  PhD سکالرشپس فراہم کرنے کا اعلان کیا جس کے بارے میں طلباء و طالبات کو تفصیلی بریفنگ بھی دی گئی یاد رہے اس کو سکالرشپ کے پلائی کے لیے آخری تاریخ 30 اکتوبر ہے پورے پاکستان کے  لیے ٹوٹل 19  سکالرشپ ہےجس میں سے دس سکالر شپ عبدالولی خان یونیورسٹی مردان کو فراہم کیے جائیں گے اس کے علاوہ مشترکہ ریسرچ پروگرام ،مشترکہ کانفرنسزکے علاوہ  مشترکہ  ریسرچ جرنلزشروع کرنے  میں ایک دوسرے کی مدد کرنے پر اتفاق کیا چیئرمین  سٹینڈنگ کمیٹی برائے کامرس سینیٹر ذیشان خانزادہ خان نے طلباء و طالبات سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کہا کے کہ عبد الولی خان یونیورسٹی مردان کے لیے احساس سکالرشپ کی موجودہ تعداد کو دگنا  کرنا میری اولین ترجیح ہوگی جس کے لیے ضروری اقدامات اٹھائے جا رہے ہیں کیونکہ عبدالولی خان یونیورسٹی مردان عالمی طور پر اپنا لوہا منوا چکی ہے یہی وجہ ہے کہ دنیا کی بڑی بڑی یونیورسٹیز کے ریسرچر  عبد الولی خان یونیورسٹی مردان کے سائٹیشن کا رخ کرتے ہیں یہ یونیورسٹی مستقبل قریب میں مزید ترقی کرے گی انہوں نے طلباء و طالبات کو یقین دلایا کہ وہ یونیورسٹی کی تعمیر و ترقی میں ہر ممکن مدد فراہم کریں گے گے آخر میں تمام مہمانوں نے ایڈمنسٹریشن کی  عمارت کے سامنے پودا لگایا اور یونیورسٹی کی جانب سے ظہرانے میں شرکت کی

سپیکر قومی اسمبلی اسد قیصر نےعبدالولی خان یونیورسٹی کے وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر ظہور الحق اور ان کی ٹیم سے اسلام آباد میں ملاقات کی۔ اسپیکراسد قیصر نے کہا ہے کہ ٹائمز ہائیر ایجوکیشن کے تحت ابھرتی ہوئی معیشتوں کی جامعات میں 150 واں پوزیشن حاصل کرنا عبدالولی خان یونیورسٹی مردان کی ایک قابل ستائش کامیابی ہے۔یونیورسٹی کا یہ اعزاز حاصل کرنا یونیورسٹی کی انتظامیہ، اساتذہ اور طلبہ کی لگن اور محنت کا مظہر ہے۔

اسپیکر اسد قیصر نے کہا کہ سی پیک کے تحت قائم ہونے والے صنعتی منصوبوں کے مکمل فعال ہونے سے پاکستان خاص طور پر صوبہ خیبرپختونخواہ معاشی ترقی کی راہ پر گامزن ہو گا۔اس سلسلے میں عبدالولی خان یونیورسٹی کاکردار اہم ہوگا۔انہوں نے ملک کو درپیش معاشرتی، معاشی ،سائنسی اور تکنیکی امور پر تحقیق کے فروغ کے لئے ریسرچ کی بہترین سہولیات کی فراہمی کےلئے اپنے ہرممکن تعاون کا یقین دلایا۔

پروفیسر ڈاکٹر ظہورالحق نے بتایا کہ تحقیقی کارکردگی کی بنیاد پر عبدالولی خان یونیورسٹی کو عالمی درجہ بندی میں 200 واں مقام حاصل ہے۔یہ یونیورسٹی ایشیاء میں 24 ویں اور جنوبی ایشیاء میں تیسری پوزیشن پر ہے۔انہوں نے اسپیکر اسد قیصر اور خیبرپختونخواہ کی صوبائی حکومت کا یونیورسٹی کو مطلوبہ وسائل کی دستیابی اور تعاون کے لیے ان کے تعاون پر ان کا شکریہ ادا کیا۔ بعدازاں وائس چانسلر نے اسپیکر کو یونیورسٹی کا سووینئر پیش کیا۔ اس موقع پر سینٹر شبلی فراز اور ممبر قومی اسمبلی انور تاج بھی موجود تھے۔

Meeting of Vice Chancellor AWKUM Prof. Dr. Zahoor Ul Haq With Fair And Exhibition Committee of MCCI

 

A meeting of the Fair and Exhibition Committee of Mardan Chamber of Commerce & Industries (MCCI) was held with the Vice Chancellor Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, Prof. Dr. Zahoor ul Haq on January 19, 2021 in the Garden Campus. The delegation of MCCI was headed by Mr. Zahir Shah Khan (President MCCI). The main objective of the meeting was to strengthen the university-industry linkages. Both parties agreed on facilitating research and development (R&D) activities. In this connection, Mr. Asghar Khan Utmankhel (Convener of the Fair & Exhibition Committee, MCCI) proposed to organize the Trade and Industrial Exhibition in collaboration with AWKUM in Garden Campus.

Prof. Dr. Zahid Hussain (Director ORIC), Dr. Mohammad Jehangir (Director IBL) and Mr. Shah Hussain Awan (Lecturer IBL) were nominated to represent AWKUM in the Fair and Exhibition Committee of the expo. The committee will submit the draft of various activities of the expo to the Vice Chancellor. The expo is expected to be held in mid-March, 2021 as per Government SOPs      regarding         COVID-19
