The entry test for admissions in MS/MPhil/MSc/PhD at AWKUM is scheduled to be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon (for MPhil) and for PhD (12:30 to 3:30 PM) at the Department of Computer Science, Garden Campus, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan.

You are kindly requested to arrive on time and make the necessary arrangements to attend.

Date July 30, 2026

MPhil Timing 10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon

PhD Timing 12:30 PM – 3:30 PM

Important Notes

1. Original CNIC is mandatory to be presented at the exam centre.
2. All students are required to download and print the payment acknowledgement slip from the online admission form and present it at the examination centre.
3. The test shall be NTS-General for MPhil and GAT-Subject for PhD students.

انجینئر ڈاکٹر الیاس صالح نے پی ایچ ڈی مقالے کا کامیاب دفاع کر لیا

شعبہ علومِ اسلامیہ، عبد الولی خان یونیورسٹی مردان کے ہونہار اسکالر انجینئر ڈاکٹر الیاس صالح نے آج اپنے پی ایچ ڈی مقالے کا کامیابی سے دفاع (Open Public Defence) کر لیا۔

اوپن پبلک ڈیفنس کا اجلاس شعبہ علومِ اسلامیہ کے چیئرمین پروفیسر ڈاکٹر کریم داد کی زیرِ صدارت منعقد ہوا۔ اس موقع پر مقامی بیرونی ممتحنین کے طور پر ڈاکٹر محمد جاوید (یونیورسٹی آف سوات) اور ڈاکٹر سعید الحق جدون (ہزارہ یونیورسٹی، مانسہرہ) نے شرکت کی۔ اس کے علاوہ شعبے کے اساتذۂ کرام، محققین اور طلبہ کی کثیر تعداد بھی اجلاس میں موجود تھی۔

سکالر کے تحقیقی مقالے کا عنوان تھا:

منتخب عربی تفاسیر(1301ھ تا 1445ھ) کا تعارف،منا ہج اور امتیازی خصوصیات:ایک تحقیقی مطالعہ

(The introduction, Methodologies and Distinctive Features of Selected Arabic Exegesis (1301AH–1445AH): A Research Study)

یونیورسٹی کے قواعد و ضوابط کے مطابق مقالہ بیرونی ممتحنین کے طور پر ملائیشیا اور متحدہ عرب امارات کے دو ممتاز پروفیسرز کو بھیجا گیا، جنہوں نے تحقیقی معیار کو تسلی بخش قرار دیتے ہوئے مثبت رپورٹس ارسال کیں اور سکالر کو پی ایچ ڈی کی ڈگری دینے کی سفارش کی۔

بحمد اللہ، آج کامیاب دفاع کے بعد انجینئر ڈاکٹر الیاس صالح نے ڈاکٹریٹ (PhD) کی ڈگری حاصل کر لی۔

واضح رہے کہ انجینئر ڈاکٹر الیاس صالح، ڈاکٹر حافظ صالح الدین، پروفیسر آف اسلامک اسٹڈیز، عبد الولی خان یونیورسٹی مردان کے بڑے صاحبزادے، مردان کی معروف علمی و روحانی شخصیت پیرِ طریقت, شیخ القرآن مولانا محمد کامل بابا جی رحمہ اللہ کے پوتے، اور مولانا ڈاکٹر حافظ نظام الدین کے بھتیجے ہیں۔

اس موقع پر انجینئر ڈاکٹر الیاس صالح نے اپنی اس کامیابی کو اللہ تعالیٰ کے خصوصی فضل و کرم، اپنے والدین، اساتذۂ کرام، بزرگوں کی تربیت، دعاؤں اور اہلِ خانہ کی مسلسل حوصلہ افزائی کا ثمر قرار دیا۔

AWKUM Students Participate in Indus Ras Expo 2026: Robotics and Autonomous Systems

 

The Career Counseling and Placement Center (CCPC) facilitated the participation of students from the Departments of Computer Science and Physics at Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM) in the Indus Robotics and Autonomous Systems (RAS) Expo 2026, held at the Pak-China Friendship Centre, Islamabad.

The two-day national expo, organized by Ignite – National Technology Fund under the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT), in collaboration with the National Centre of Robotics and Automation (NCRA) and the NUST College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (E&ME). brought together universities, researchers, startups, industry leaders, policymakers, and technology professionals from across Pakistan to showcase innovations in robotics, artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, drone technology, and industrial automation.

The students were accompanied by the CCPC team, including the Director, Dr. Muhammad Bilal, and Assistant Directors Usman Shamroz and Hazrat Bilal. During the visit, the students explored cutting-edge technologies, interacted with researchers, entrepreneurs, and industry experts, and gained valuable insights into the latest developments in robotics and artificial intelligence. The visit provided an excellent platform for networking, knowledge exchange, and fostering stronger industry–academia collaboration. It also reflected the vision of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Jamil Ahmad, to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and professional competencies required to excel in an increasingly technology-driven and globally interconnected world, thereby enhancing their career readiness and future employability.

Two MPhil Scholars Successfully Defend Their Theses at AWKUM

Two MPhil scholars from the Department of Botany, Ms. Hira Khan and Ms. Sonehra Khan, successfully defended their MPhil theses today under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ikramullah Khan, Professor of Botany at Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM) and Vice Chancellor, Hazara University, Mansehra.

The thesis defense was conducted before a panel of distinguished experts, with Dr. Laal Badshah, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany, University of Peshawar, serving as the External Examiner. During the defense, both scholars presented their research findings with confidence and effectively responded to the questions and observations raised by the examination committee.

Prof. Dr. Ikramullah Khan congratulated both scholars on the successful completion and defense of their research work. He appreciated their dedication, perseverance, and academic commitment throughout their MPhil studies. He also acknowledged the valuable contribution of the external examiner in maintaining the quality and academic standards of the evaluation process.

The successful defense of these MPhil theses reflects the Department of Botany's continued commitment to promoting quality research, innovation, and academic excellence, thereby contributing to the advancement of scientific knowledge and higher education at Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan.

AWKUM Offers Internships to Students of Government Girls Degree College, Sheikh Maltoon, Mardan

In line with the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Jamil Ahmad's vision of fostering inter-institutional collaboration, the University Advancement & Career Development Centre (UA&CDC), Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM), facilitated the placement of 35 students from Government Girls Degree College Sheikh Maltoon, Mardan, as interns in various research laboratories of the University. These students have been facilitated in the newly established laboratory, the Mardan Research Laboratory (MRL), in the Departments of Botany and Biochemistry, as well as in various sections of the Department of Chemistry.

The UA&CDC team, including Dr. Muhammad Bilal, Director and Mr. Usman Shamroz, Assistant Director, has briefed the students on the internship policy and rules and regulations of the university. The students were also briefed on punctuality and the internship's progress.   

During the 6 to 8-week internship, students will gain hands-on experience in laboratory techniques, research methodologies, scientific equipment handling, and laboratory safety practices. The program aims to enhance their practical skills, professional confidence, and career readiness by providing exposure to real-world research and laboratory environments.

This initiative reflects AWKUM’s commitment to promoting experiential learning and strengthening academic and professional collaboration with local and regional institutions.
