Prof. Dr. Ikramullah Khan has been elected as President of “Pakistan Ecological Society (PES)”
Prof. Dr. Ikramullah Khan, Department of Botany, Garden Campus, Abdul
Wali Khan University Mardan, has been elected as President of “Pakistan
Ecological Society (PES)” for a period of three years. Pakistan Ecological
Society was established at the end of 2019 in the University of Peshawar. This
society is a recognised platform of well-known Ecologists/Plant Scientists from
all universities and research organisations of all provinces of Pakistan
including AJK and Gilgit Baltistan.
Prof. Dr. Khan has rich experience in the field of Plant Ecology, having
PhD from the University of Queensland, Australia, one Post Doctorate from China
and second Post Doctorate from UAE, having 20 years of teaching, research and
administration experience.
Moreover, Dr. Farooq Jan and Dr. Abdur Rauf of the same Department, were
also elected executive members of the society.

Miss Nazia Shah Mphil Scholar of Botany Defended Her MPhil Thesis
Miss
Nazia Shah MPhil Scholar of Botany defended her MPhil thesis at Department of
Botany, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan. Prof. Dr. Ikramullah Khan was her
supervisor and Dr. Imtiaz (Bacha Khan University) was her co supervisor. Her
examiner was Prof Dr Muhammad Adnan Khan, Chairman, Department of Botany, Kohat
University of Science and Technology, Kohat. Her thesis title was “Impact of
climate change on different morphological and anatomical characteristics of Debregeasia sp.”. She is the first
graduate who completed her thesis in the field of Climate Change.
