AWKUM Established MOU With PIEAS For Student Internship And Research Facilitation



Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan established MoU with Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS). Prof. Dr. Aurangzeb Khan,Dean Faculty of Physical and Numerical Sciences, AWKUM and  Prof. Dr. Naseem Irfan, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, PIEAS signed the MoU.
This MoU was made possible due to sincere efforts of Dr. Gul Rooh, Associate Professor, Department of Physics. Dr. Ejaz Ahmad, Chairman Department of Physics and Dr. Hazir Rahman, Director ORIC AWKUM were also present. Both the HEI's reiterated the importance of research and stressed that excellence in research may be achieved by sharing knowledge and expertise in the greater interest of the masses. The mutual collaboration will be helpful for searching student’s placement and internship opportunities, and joint research resources utilization for the future augmentation of R &D activities.

Newspaper Cutting Regarding College of Veterinary Sciences


 In pursuance to the decision of Honble Peshawar high court in writ petition number 1498/2019 titled Ashfaq Ahmad vs Awkum and others, the delegation of Gomal university D I khan comprise of Registrar Gomal university,Dean and Director visited Abdul Wali khan university Mardan wherein, at the secretariat of Vice chancellor AWKUM,  both the parties reached to an agreement that total 89 students of  Batch one and batch two  of college of veterinary sciences and animal husbandry Awkum will be transferred to Gomal university as per orders of high court.  Students will be facilitated by Both the parties to ensure their further studies and meanwhile the awkum administration in coordination with the college of veterinary sciences and animal husbandry will work towards the deficiencies pointed out by the Council concerned. Abdul wali khan university Mardan has completed most of the tasks pinpointed by council and will soon complete the rest of the deficiencies so that college is to be recognized.

One Day Seminar On "Uplifting The Quality of Higher Education Through Innovation Strategies"




The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM) arranged a seminar on “Uplifting the Quality of Higher Education through Innovative Strategies” on December 19, 2019. Prof. Dr. Iftikhar Ahmad (EX Vice Chancellor), University of Science and Technology Abbottabad was the keynote speaker. The Director QEC, Prof. Dr. Waheed Murad, welcomed the honorable guests and participants in his remarks on quality education. A large number of faculty and members of Program Teams and Assessment Teams (PT/AT) of different departments participated in the session.
“The inception of knowledge driven economies provided basis for the establishment of Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan in 2002. HEC reformed the higher education system based on the world’s leading US higher education. The aim of the reformed system was to improve quality at par with the developed world. During the session, the speaker highlighted the innovative but simple strategies for the uplifting of quality of higher education at par with the developed world.
Addressing to the closing ceremony, the chief guest Prof. Dr. Muhammad Khurshid Khan (Vice Chancellor AWKUM) highly appreciated the efforts of QEC for organizing such an important seminar for faculty members. He said that conducting such seminars will create awareness about the need of quality education in the universities.
In the end Prof. Dr. Aurangzeb Khan (Dean Faculty of Physical & Numerical Sciences) presented a vote of thanks to the guests and participants.
