Mevlana Student Mobility
The
Mevlana student exchange program applications for the academic year
2020/2021 have started. Applications can be made until 11th of
March 2020. Please find attached the Mobility Form for student,
Student Application form and the student information form. The results will be
announced on 18th of March 2020.

Application
conditions
· Academic cumulative average
requirement for undergraduate / graduate students is 2,50/4,00 (Students
currently enrolled in 3rd to 7th semester can apply)
· Academic cumulative average
requirement for MS / PhD students is 3,00/4,00 (students enrolled in 2nd
Semester and onwards can apply)
· Foreign language exam minimum
passing score is 60
· The evaluation criteria and weighted
scores to be used in evaluating the 2020/2021 academic year applications are as
follows:
Academic success level: 50%
Language level: 50%
Required
documents for application: Transcript, Language Score Document,
Student Application Form

All
students and encourage them to avail this opportunity. All application shall be
submitted through relevant Department, duly endorsed by the Head of
Department, to ORIC on or before Wednesday, March 11th, 2020. The

AWKUM Signed an MoU With SDPI
Abdul
Wali Khan University Mardan formally signed Memorandum of Understanding with
Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI). The MoU was signed by Prof.
Dr. Mohammed Khhurshid Khan, Vice Chancellor, AWKUM on Behlaf of AWKUM and Dr.
Shafqat, Director Policy on Behalf of SDPI. The ceremony was attended by Prof.
Dr. Zahid Marwat, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Sultan Ayaz,
Dean, Faculty of Chemical & Life Sciences, Dr. Hazir Rehman, Director ORIC,
Mr. Adil Khan, Registrar, Dr. Tariq Mehmud, Deputy Registrar and Dr. Muhammad Idris,
Focal Person SDPI, KPk. The MoU was established due to the efforts of Dr.
Muhammad Idris.
On
this occasion, Dr. Shafqat, Director Policy, SDPI elaborated the approach of
SDPI as the Institute acts as both a generator of original research on
sustainable development issues and as an information resource for concerned
individuals and institutions.
Prof. Dr. Mohammed Khurshid Khan, Vice Chancellor reiterated the importance of sustainable policy and appreciated the efforts of Dr. Muhammad Idris to bring AWKUM & SDPI closer through an MoU in the field of policy making and trainings.

Dr. Syed Raza Shah Gilani, Assistant Professor of Law, Successfully Completed his PhD
Dr. Syed Raza Shah Gilani, Assistant Professor at
Abdul Wali khan University Mardan has successfully completed his PhD in Law
from Brunel University, London. During his Doctoral program he managed to bag
many distinctions and awards. He published three articles in international
Journals and served as an Assistant Editor of an international Journal. School
of Law, Brunel University awarded him the best research scholar of 2018. He
successfully presented a number of scientific articles in top ranking Universities
of Europe in Geneva, Paris and Istanbul.
His thesis titled, “The significance of the doctrine
of proportionality in the context of militant democracy to protect the freedom
of expression” was evaluated by Dr. Alexandra Xanthaki, Prof of Law at Brunel
University London, Stephen Berry from Oxford University and Dr. Philip Larkin
at Queens University Belfast. He recently rejoined the Department of Law, Abdul
Wali Khan University Mardan, which will further strengthen the faculty and
elevate the quality of education and research to international standards.
