MoU signed between AWKUM and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority. The Memorandum of Understanding ceremony was held in the conference room of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority. The MoU was signed by Director General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority Abid Khan Wazir and Vice Chancellor Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan Professor Dr. Zahoorul Haq.

On this occasion, the heads of both institutions, Professor Fazal Sattar Durrani, Principal Pakhtunkhwa Institute of Arts and Culture, Dr. Syed Zafarullah Bakhshali, Chairman Pashto Department, Manager Culture Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tourism Authority Humayun Khan, Deputy Manager Literature and Language Nadeem Tucker, Manager Planning Munir Abbas, Dr. Ziaullah, Sinan, Lecturer RPCA, Dr. Naveed, Abed Mehmood and others were present.

Under the Memorandum of Understanding, the two institutions Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority and Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan will make joint efforts in the promotion of regional languages ​​including culture, architecture and fine arts in Mardan province. Speaking at the event, DG Tourism Authority Abid Khan Wazir said that Tourism Authority is taking initiatives in the hospitality sector, arts and other sectors in the province. Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan will help in promoting tourism and culture in the province.

Prof. Dr. Zahoorul Haq said that there is a Department of Tourism and Culture in Jamia Abdul Wali Khan Mardan where research work is going on and full support will be given for its promotion. Under the MoU, both institutions will promote the culture, tourism, fine arts and regional languages ​​of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. 1. I am already enrolled in one regular degree, am I eligible to apply for online degree.

*Answer*: No, as per HEC policy double degree at a time is not allowed.

2. I live in Punjab/Baluchistan/Dubai etc. Will I have to come for interview?
*Answer*: If you belong to far area, and cannot come to the university for interview, we may arrange it online. But, whenever needed we may call you the campus.

3. Will the examinations be completely online or on campus.
*Answer*: Yes, the examination will be conducted online.

4. What is the fee structure for local/Pakistani Nationals
*Answer*: For Pakistani & Afghani students the fee for first semester is Rs.14500. Onward semesters will be charged at Rs. 12000 per semester

5. What is the fee structure for foreigners
*Answer*: For Foreign nationals the fee for the first semester is USD. 270 (including application fee, registration fee, & first semester fee). Onward semesters will be charged at USD 250 per semester

6. I belong to a foreign country, & do not have access to a local bank to pay the application fee of Rs.300.
*Answer*: Foreign nationals are exempted from the application fee. However you are required to provide passport first page/ID as a evidence

7. What is the application processing fee?
*Answer*: Rs 300 per application. Foreigners are exempted

8. What is the upper age limit for online associate degrees?
*Answer*: No limit

Advancing the capacity of Pakistan’s higher education institutions and systems to develop employable graduates

The Higher Education System Strengthening Activity (HESSA), a five-year project that was started in 2021 as a part of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), aims to increase the employability of the Pakistani workforce through trainings to enhance graduates' capacity, relevance, adequacy, and inclusivity. In order to increase access for underprivileged communities and overall student achievement after graduation, expanded remote learning, financial aid, scholarship, and career pathways initiatives have been developed.

In this respect, a three-day in-person workshop was held at PC, Bhurban, Murree on July 26–28, 2022. From each of HESSA's 15 partner universities, nominated representatives who support student services were present at this event. The goal was to formally launch a strategic engagement process with partner universities and their chosen participants, train participants in particular theme work areas, and collectively design targeted interventions for each partner university in the field of student support services.
