The Dar-Ul-Shifa Hospital and UCW observed “Nutrition Expo 2024”

 

The Dar-Ul-Shifa Hospital and UCW observed “Nutrition Expo 2024” on Tuesday, May 07, 2024.

The purpose of this event was to spread awareness among the students and faculty about the importance of good Nutrition. People nowadays, especially the young generation, face a lot of health problems mostly because of a weak knowledge of a healthy diet. The craze about having a fit and slim body has led the young generation toward a state of weak physical health.

The organizer of the event, Dr. Naseem Rafiq, Principal UCW found it important to enlighten the students about a healthy diet plan to keep them not only healthy but also fit in all respects.

Various stalls in this regard were arranged including food stalls (most of them home made), stalls of natural processed foods, Arts and craft stalls and stalls of medical consultants.

Prof. Dr. Zahir Shah, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences honored the occasion as Chief Guest. After the inauguration the guests visited the stalls and appreciated the efforts of the participants. The guests and visitors pressed on the need for such events for a healthy generation.
















A Session on Mental Health of Young Girls

 

On Wednesday, May 22, 2024, University College for Women, in collaboration with the Population Welfare Department Mardan, organized a seminar focusing on the mental health of young girls. The session delved into the topic of "Psychological Challenges Encountered by Teenage Girls," exploring crucial issues like managing anger, coping with social pressures, nurturing emotional well-being, and fostering self-esteem. Renowned psychologist Dr. Naveeda Khattak and her team from the ASRH department at DHQ Hospital Mardan graced the event as guest speakers, sharing their expertise to the benefit of the students.

Speech Contest Highlights the Relevance of Prophet Muhammad's (P.B.U.H.) Seerat in Addressing Modern Challenges

 

The contemporary world grapples with numerous issues, including poverty, starvation, pollution, exploitation of the vulnerable, and the status of women in society. Addressing these challenges becomes feasible through embracing the Seerat of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H). To shed light on this approach, a speech contest took place at University College for Women, organized in collaboration with Maalik Foundation Mardan.

Students from various classes passionately shared their perspectives on the diverse issues confronting the modern world and proposed solutions grounded in the life of Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.). The president of Maalik Foundation commended the participants, emphasizing that the contest aims to enlighten the young generation about the exemplary life of Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H). Principal Dr. Naseem Rafiq also underscored the significance of deepening one's knowledge about the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.), expressing gratitude to Maalik Foundation for their valuable collaboration in orchestrating the event.

Seerat-un-Nabi ﷺ Conference Arranged at University College For Women, AWKUM

 

University College for Women Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan has arranged “Seerat-un-Nabi ” on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 10:00 am to 11:30 am at Haji Turangzai Hall, UCW. Dr. Nasmee Rafiq, Principal UCW organized the event, Dr. Syed Ali Shah, Coordinator, Main Campus, Dr. Manzoor, Chairman, Department of Political Science, Faculty and students of University College for Women attended the event.

Social Activities Week at UCW (University College For Women)

 

 The social activities week was arranged by University College for Women (AWKUM). The event was organized by Dr. Naseem Rafiq, Principal, UCW and Ms. Robina Zakir, Lecturer in Home Economics. The ceremony started with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by inauguration by the Principal.

The Principal along-with faculty/staff members attended this event. They visited different stalls and appreciated the student’s efforts. Details of the activities is as under:

1. Cooking and Painting competition was held on Monday, March 01, 2021. 

2. Inter class cleanliness and decoration competition was held on Tuesday, March 02, 2021. 

3. Culture day was observed on Wednesday, March 03, 2021. 

4. The ceremony as concluded with prize and certificate distribution on Thursday 04, 2021.

Training Workshop on "Road Safety" Conducted at UCW


A training workshop on "Road Safety" was conducted on October 15, 2019 at UCW (University College For Women) by the college administration in collaboration with National Highway & Motorway Police (NHMP). Mr. Islam Danish, Senior Patrolling Officer enlightened the students and staff of UCW on the importance and strategies of Road Safety.
