Responsibilities: The selected candidates will be responsible
for conducting the experiments, handling and management of research data, visits
to collaborator universities/institutes and industries (if needed), report
writing and other day to day activities assigned by the principal investigator.

One Day Seminar "Students Awareness On Use Of Medicinal Preparation For Livestock Sponserd By Nawan Laboratories (PVT) LTD"
College
of veterinary sciences & Animal husbandry, Abdul Wali Khan University
Mardan organized one day seminar on October 18, 2018 on the topic “Students Awareness on Use of Medicinal
Preparation for Livestock’’ Sponsorsed by Nawan Laboratories (PVT) Ltd.
The Guest Speaker of the Seminar was Dr Mujahid Akbar (Area Sales manager KPK)
along with Subordinate staff of Nawan Laboratories.
The
speaker delivered a comprehensive talk on use of Medicinal Products like
antibiotics, Anthelmintic, Metabolic enhancer, Tonics and various supplement
regarding animals feeding prepared by Nawan Laboratories (PVT) Ltd.
The
DVM 9th and 7th semester students took great interest in
the seminar and raised thoughts provoking questions about usage of various
medicine.
In
concluding session, the Chief Guest, Professor Dr. Sadeeq Ur Rahman, Principal
College of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry, Abdul Wali Khan
University Mardan appreciated the efforts of Dr. Ali Gohar IN charge Veterinary
Clinical services and Dr. Fazli Rabbani IN charge Experimental Animal Shed for
organizing such a useful event for the students.
Condolence Meeting at UCW
A condolence
meeting was held at University College for Women, Main Campus (AWKUM) in
respect of Ms. Erum Sardar, Demonstrator, UCW/Department of Chemistry, AWKUM
who passed away on October 23, 2018. The Principal/Dy. Provost (Female) Ms.
Naseem Rafiq chaired meeting. After dua she expressed her sorrow and said that
Ms. Erum Sardar was appointed in AWKUM in 2010, she was a very competent,
devoted and peaceful person. Her death is a big loss for AWKUM, she will live
in the hearts of all the employees of UCW/Department of Chemistry, AWKUM and specifically
students.
May her soul
rest in peace (Aameen).

Inter Hostel Cleanliness Competition at UCW
The inter hostel cleanliness
competition was arranged by Principal/Dy. Provost Ms. Naseem Rafiq and Ms.
Robina Zakir, Lecturer in Home Economics at University College for Women
(AWKUM) on Thursday, October 18, 2018.
All the female hostel employees
participated with zeal including Assistant Wardens all class four employees
(i.e Naib Qasid, Sweepers, Female and Male attendant).
The judges of the ceremony were Dr.
Syed Rashid Ali, Coordinator, Main Campus and Mr. Ishaq, Lecturer in Sociology.
Palwasha house students took 1st prize, Alia/Sobia students 2nd and Husna house
students 3rd.
The winners were awarded with
prizes. Dr. Syed Rashid Ali and Ms. Naseem Rafiq specially thanks to all for
their support reading cleanliness.
1st International Conference on Medicinal Chemistry & Drug Discovery
The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC)
UK and RSC Pakistan organized the 1st International Conference on
Medicinal Chemistry & Drug Discovery. The conference is being held at
COMSTECH secretariat, Islamabad, Pakistan. The federal minister for Science
Technology Mr. Azam Swati attended the inaugural session today at COMSTECH
secretariat. The Vice Chancellor Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan Professor
Dr. Khursheed Ahmad Khan, Vice Chancellor Women University, Swabi Professor Dr.
Fatima Khanzadi Khattak, Coordinator COMSTECH, Khursheed Hasnain, Chairman
Department of Pharmacy Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad Dr. Gul Majeed, Dr. Ayaz
conference coordinator, Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan and Dr. Asad Ali,
Director ORIC, AWKUM were present on the occasion along with researchers,
scientists, students and academicians from other institutions of the country.
Several eminent scientists of the RSC from UK, Lebanon, Egypt, Indonesia,
Germany, Algeria, Malaysia, Turkey, Palestine, Oman and other countries are
attending the conference. The conference is organized by Abdul Wali Khan
University Mardan, Women University Swabi, Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad
and the University of Punjab Lahore in collaboration with the RSC, UK and the
Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. Prof. Dr. Chos Bountra from Oxford
University UK, Prof. Dr. Zaheer-Ul-Haq University of Karachi, Dr. Ghasan
Albarghoti Birzeit University Palestine and Dr. Michael Mcdonogh from Oxford
University, UK presented their papers in the 1st session of the conference
which was chaired by Dr. Gul Majeed from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad.
The speakers talked about their research on cancer and informed the audience
about the hazards and potential threats from different types of cancer as this
disease claims 1 human life every 19 seconds throughout the world. The speakers
insisted on the need of collaborative research work by researchers from around
the world and that close liaison and linkage of industry and academia is
important for quick and efficient control of this lethal disease. Members of
the conference said that this international conference will be an important
step towards finding solutions for cancer and other such diseases.
