AWKUM conducted Self-Institutional Performance Evaluation (IPE)

 

Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM) conducted Self-Institutional Performance Evaluation (IPE) on January 16-18, 2023. The aim of the IPE is to self-evaluate the performance & efficiency of the University based on 11 Quality Standards provided in the IPE Manual of HEC. The standards outline major areas that Higher Education Institutions need to focus on in order to ensure good governance and quality education.

The IPE panel comprised of one external reviewer i.e. Mr. Imran Ullah Marwat, Director QAC (HED), Peshawar and three internal reviewers including Dr. Abdul Ghaffar (Chairperson, Department of Education), Director and Deputy Director QEC. The self-review process was facilitated by the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) AWKUM.

The IPE commenced with a detailed introduction of the Self-IPE processes and a presentation on the Compliance Report of IPE 2021-22 delivered by Mr. Sayim Sohail (Director QEC). The IPE panel then carefully examined the University Portfolio Report (UPR) and supporting documentation for answers to the questions standard wise.

Meetings with departmental academic and administrative heads, faculty members as well students were scheduled for the IPE's second day in order to assess the capacity of the institution's operational procedures. In order to observe the facilities offered on campus, the panel also took a tour of various departments, library, classrooms, and labs. The panel appreciated the efforts of AWKUM in enhancing the culture of quality. The panel members utilized the last day in preparation and completion of the IPE reports.

5th Convocation of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan

 

The 5^th Convocation of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan has been scheduled in the last week of February 2023. The eligible graduates who are desirous of attending the Convocation can get themselves registered till 20^th January 2023.

Eligible Graduates:

Ø  All Regular Students Graduated in 2019, 2020 and 2021.

Ø  All Private Students Graduated in 2019, 2020 and 2021. (Position Holders Only).  

Registration Procedure:

Ø  Prescribed registration form can be downloaded from "click to download" and is also available at office of the Controller of Examinations.

Ø  The Registration form duly filled in all respects shall be submitted at the office of the Controller of Examinations before the deadline.

Ø  Prescribed registration fee of Rs. 7000/- (Rs. 2000/- refundable on return of Gown) must be deposited in any branch of THE BANK OF KHYBER Account No: 002008419992 Branch Code 0079.

BIC, AWKUM and BIC, GIKI organized two days training sessions.

 

The Business Incubation Center Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan in collaboration with the Catalyst (Business Incubation Center) Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute (GIKI) Topi organized two days training sessions on December 20-22 at seminar hall, the Catalyst GIKI for startups of AWKUM and GIKI.  The main purpose of the training was to promote "Entrepreneurship via Establishment & Strengthening of Incubation Centers at Educational Institutions”

Session on Tuesday 20 December 2022 was delivered by Mr. Rahat Gul on “Business Proposal writing​​ for Start-Ups". During the session, the trainer discussed a step-by-step approach to develop a simple business proposal and its importance in achievement of business objectives.

Session on Thursday 22 December 2022 was delivered by Mr. M Waheed Iqbal on “Company Formation and its legal aspects for Start-Ups". During the session, the trainer discussed comparison of companies with other forms of business, the meaning of separate legal personality, limited liability, transfer of ownership and perpetual succession, definition of company and body corporate, private company and public company etc.

Startups from AWKUM were invited by GIKI Incubation Center. Coordinator BIC Mr. Shah Hussain Awan along with Mr. Shahzad Khan (IBL) accompanied the startups during the two day training sessions. Dr. Mohammad Jehangir, (Director Business Incubation Center AWKUM) thanked officials and staff of the Catalyst GIKI for providing such a great learning opportunity for BIC AWKUM startups.
