The Department of Biotechnology, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, is pleased to announce that Ms. Reema Yousaf, PhD Scholar in Biotechnology, has successfully defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “Biotechnological Production of Medicinal Metabolites in Artemisia scoparia.” The open defense was held today in the seminar room of the Department of Biotechnology, Garden Campus.
Ms. Reema Yousaf’s doctoral research, carried out under the supervision of Dr. Mubarak Ali Khan, Associate Professor of Biotechnology, has resulted in the publication of three research articles in internationally reputed, high-impact factor journals. Her scholarly contributions highlight the potential of Artemisia scoparia for the sustainable production of bioactive medicinal metabolites, representing a significant advancement in the field of plant biotechnology.
The dissertation was thoroughly evaluated by esteemed international experts from the United States and France, underscoring the global recognition of the research. The viva voce examination was conducted by distinguished external examiners: Dr. Sher Mohammad (Agriculture Research Institute, Tarnab Farm, Peshawar) and Dr. Tariq Khan (Department of Biotechnology, University of Malakand).
The defense session was attended by faculty members, researchers, and graduate scholars from multiple disciplines, who actively engaged in the academic discussion, raising insightful queries and appreciating the quality of the work presented.
