A collaborative session took place
at AWKUM on August 22, 2023, involving the HESSA (Higher Education System
Strengthening Activity) team from USAID and officials from AWKUM. The purpose
of the meeting was to address various aspects of the Student Support Services

During the session, participants
engaged in discussions covering six primary focal areas. The discussions
encompassed post-summit activities, the strategies devised by AWKUM during the
summit, the process of updating and finalizing details within the Airtable
system, identification of indicators for the six focal areas, procedures for
monitoring and reporting progress, as well as the formulation of an activities
plan designed to enhance Student Support Services from October 2023 to August
2024. Additionally, the meeting emphasized the significance of an Equity,
Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) plan with a particular focus on
disability-related aspects.
Following the productive
discussions with AWKUM officials, Ms. Asma Mohsin, the Manager of the HESSA
Program, engaged in an in-depth conversation with the respected
Vice-Chancellor, AWKUM, Prof. Dr. Zahoor Ul Haq. The conversation centered
around AWKUM's strategic plan for Student Support Services.
As a gesture of appreciation, the
Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Zahoor Ul Haq, presented a commendation
shield to Ms. Asma Mohsin, acknowledging her outstanding contributions to the
HESSA Program.
This collaborative session provided
a platform for meaningful exchanges and paved the way for further progress in
enhancing Student Support Services within AWKUM.
