An insightful field visit to the
Karakar Tunnel Project was organized for 8th-semester research students of the
Department of Geology, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, under the supervision
of Mr. Junaid Ali Shah.
The visit aimed to bridge the gap
between theoretical knowledge and practical application by providing students
with hands-on exposure to real-world geological and engineering challenges.
During the visit, students closely observed rock formations, structural
features, and various aspects of tunneling operations on-site.
Such academic activities play a
vital role in enhancing students’ understanding and professional competence,
enabling them to relate classroom learning with field realities. The
enthusiasm, curiosity, and dedication demonstrated by the students were highly
commendable.
