THE World University Rankings 2024 by Subject

Times Higher Education University Ranking ASIA-2023, AWKUM maintained its No.1 position in KP (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa)
Building
upon its enduring dedication to academic and research excellence, Abdul Wali
Khan University (AWKUM) has successfully maintained its No.1 position in
KP (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) and is currently ranked 5th in
Pakistan and 149th overall in the prestigious Times Higher
Education Asia University Rankings for the year 2023. This year’s Asia
University Rankings encompasses a total of 669 universities, marking an
increase compared to the previous year's figure of 616 universities, from 31
territories. AWKUM, a fourteen-year-old university by grabbing 149th position,
has left behind many leading universities of Pakistan.
AWKUM has also made its inaugural participation in the Times higher Education’s Impact Ranking and achieved an impressive ranking. This notable accomplishment marks a significant milestone for the university. However, we remain committed to further improvement and strive to enhance our standing in future rankings.
The

AWKUM Retained the No.1 position in KP in the World University Ranking of Emerging Economies
By the grace of Allah, the almighty, Abdul Wali Khan University (AWKUM) retained the No.1 position in KP in the World University Ranking of Emerging Economies for two consecutive years. AWKUM is placed among top 200 universities and ranked 176th. Times Higher Education (THE) has announced the result of its Emerging Economies ranking. Overall, there are 698 universities in the ranking this year, up from 606 in 2021, and 50 territories are represented, two more than last year. Only three universities from Pakistan could make their way to top 200. Despite the major adversity of Covid-19, AWKUM remained successful to make remarkable gain in terms of global recognition. Earlier this year THE announced World’s Universities Ranking 2022 and according to that AWKUM is No.1 University in KP, No.1 in Pakistan in Life Sciences and 601 in overall world ranking
It is important
to mention that participation in ranking enables an institution to ascertain
the areas that need to be strengthened. This achievement indicates that our faculty is tremendously
talented, dedicated and productive as teachers and researchers. This is where the vision of
the leadership takes the institution to new heights. The Vice chancellor has given
top priority to the research, teaching skills and developing international
outlook. In this regard special grants were given to researchers and
faculty to produce quality work in their fields. He believes that good institution invests in individuals to
get higher returns.
These steps have turned the university into an eminent educational brand. In

Times Higher Education Emerging Economies Universities Rankings 2021
By the grace of
Allah, the almighty, another accomplishment is made. Abdul Wali Khan University
(AWKUM) is ranked 150th
by Times Higher Education
Emerging Economies Universities Rankings 2021.
Times Higher Education (THE) has today announced the result of its Emerging Economies ranking, which includes institutions in countries or regions classified by the London Stock Exchange’s FTSE Group as “advanced emerging”, “secondary emerging” or “frontier”. The ranking demonstrates the growing strength of secondary emerging countries, heavily driven by Pakistan, China, and Russia. A record, 606 universities ranked this year from 48 countries and regions, 14% more than in 2020 (533), as 86 universities, including AWKUM, made their debut. It is very positive to that Pakistan and is making significant gains from the secondary emerging markets. About 77% of universities (10 out of 13) from Pakistan improved or maintained their previous ranking positions. Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan debuts at 150th. China grabbed the top Five positions while Only two universities from Pakistan made their way to top 150 universities worldwide. Quaid-e Azam University Islamabad secured 105th position and AWKUM , an eleven years old university and competing for the first time, went straight to 150th position.

performance data.
Earlier this year THE announced World’s
Universities Ranking 2020-2021 and according
to that AWKUM is No.1 University in Pakistan and 510th in overall world ranking (among
1527 institutions from 93 countries). Based
on our research we are ranked 200th
in world citation ranking. The
university is also ranked 24th
in Asia (in 32 countries and 627 universities) and 3rd in South Asia (in 5 countries and 95 universities).
This achievement indicates that our faculty is tremendously talented, dedicated
and productive as teachers and researchers.
It is important to mention
that participation in ranking enables an institution not only to brag but also
to ascertain the areas that need to be strengthened. This is where the vision
