On 14th August, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM) marked Pakistan's Independence Day with a series of patriotic and environmentally-focused activities. The celebration began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the National Anthem and a flag-hoisting ceremony. He highlighted that our independence was achieved through immense sacrifices and underscored that it is now our duty to work for the betterment of the country. Prayers for the prosperity of the nation and the University were also offered.

The event featured speeches and presentations by students, who expressed their love for the country through passionate performances of national anthems. Following the formal proceedings, the University Advancement Cell & Career Development Centre, in collaboration with the Directorate of Administrations, launched a plantation drive under the theme "Green AWKUM, Green Pakistan."

The plantation drive was supported by generous donations of plants from Arctic Associates-2, Walls Ice Cream Pakistan, and Zama Kor, with co-sponsorship from the District Youth Office Mardan. The drive was inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor, with active participation from faculty, staff, and students.

In his closing remarks, the Honorable Vice-Chancellor presented certificates of appreciation to the sponsors and students who contributed to the event's success.
