Dr. Jehangir Khan, lecturer in Zoology, has successfully
defended his PhD thesis on "Wolbachia as a Novel Tool to
Control Dengue Vector Mosquito Population" under the supervision of Prof.
Xi Zhiyong from Michigan State University, Prof. Wu Zhongdao and Prof. Wu Yu
from the Parasitology Department, Sun Yat-sen University, China.
Dr. Khan is the first Pakistani to study the Wolbachia-virus
interference pathways in Aedes mosquito vectors.
