Four Students of AWKUM Received PhD Fellowships for Brazil

Four students from AWKUM received PhD fellowships for Brazil under the MOU signed between Dept of Biochemistry, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan and Dept of Biochemistry, Federal University of Ceara, Brazil.

This agreement was established during the visit of Prof. Fracisco AP Campos to AWKUM in October 2017. Prof. Campos is the former PhD supervisor of Dr. Mohibullah Shah, Assistant professor, dept of Biochemistry, AWKUM who played a key role in the establishment of this agreement between the two Universities.

One Day Seminar Regarding Halal Food and Certification

A one day seminar regarding Halal Food and Certification was held on 5/12/2018 at the conference hall of HPE. The seminar was organized by ORIC with the cooperation of Department of Agriculture and Department of Botany.  Prof. Dr. Muhammad Hamayun, Dr. Hazir Rehman, Prof. Dr. Waheed Murad, Dr. Amjad Iqbal, Dr. Ziaullah Khan, Dr. Farooq Shah, Dr. Adil Hussain, Dr. Muhammad Ali, Dr. Muhammad Imtiaz, Dr. Said Hussain, Dr. Fazal Said, Dr. Fazal Jalal and a large number of students has attended the seminar. The seminar delivered by Mr. Khalid from Halal Food Certification was well received by the experts in the field and students. At the end of the seminar the Halal Food Certification, agreed to sign MOU with AWKUM and to train students from the Department of Microbiology and Department of Agriculture (Specialization Food Science and Technology).

Dr. Ahmad Ali assistant Professor of Sociology, Presented a Research Paper

Dr. Ahmad Ali assistant Professor, Department of Sociology Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan presented a research paper (“Violence and Immorality is responsible for divorce) in 8^th Academic Conference on Social Sciences and Humanities Newnham College, University of Cambridge United Kingdom (3-5, December 2018).

Assoc. Prof. Dr Muhammad Azam Khan of Economics as an Invited Speaker

It is a great pleasure for the Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, that Assoc. Prof. Dr Muhammad Azam Khan Chairman Department of Economics was invited Guest Speaker and delivered a talk on “Research Methods in Social Sciences” organized by the Department of Economics, Abbottabad University of Sciences & Technology, Abbottabad on 6 December 2018. The worthy Vice Chancellor graced the occasion and also give a shield as a token of appreciation to Dr Muhammad Azam Khan.

Dr. Momin Khan, Assistant Professor of Chemistry as an Invited Speaker

Dr. Momin Khan, Assistant Professor Department of Chemistry, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, KP has participated as an invited speaker in “4^th Science and Technology Exchange Program (STEP) in Islamic Countries” conducted at Sultan Qaboos University Oman dated 2-5 December 2018. The summit was jointly organized by Mustafa Science and Technology Foundation and Sultan Qaboos University Oman. Beside conference activities Dr. Momin Khan also met to Dean College of Science Prof. Salma Mohammed Al-Kindy, Prof. Fakhr Eldin Suliman head of Department of Chemistry and Faculty members of the Department of Chemistry for future collaboration.
