Dr. Tahir Hussain, Assistant Professor, Department of Microbiology Presented Research in The Conference “ASM Microbe 2018” held in Atlanta, USA


Dr. Tahir Hussain, working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Microbiology was awarded a travel grant by Health Security Partners- a Washington-based organization, to present his research work on, “The emergence and dissemination of superbugs in Pakistan” in the international conference “ASM Microbe 2018”, held on June 7-11 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. ASM Microbe is one of the most prestigious and largest conferences in microbiology.

Every summer the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) hold annual conference which is globally regarded as the largest gathering of scientists, researchers and students from around the world working in the diverse disciplines of microbiology to share their research experiences; and to devise strategies for containing the emerging health security threats as well as to tame and engineer microbes for the benefit of humanity.

Dr. Tahir Hussain presented his exciting research findings at the conference, and was able to make research collaborations with scientists from USA and Canada, which will not only pave the ways for collaborative research work but will also be of help in training opportunities for graduate students of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan.
